Teleconference – Conscious Care Giving: Understanding, Reducing, and Preventing Compassion Fatigue

Date and Time: Thursday April 18th from noon to 1 p.m. (please try to connect 5 minutes beforehand if possible to minimize interruptions)

Speaker: Dr. Stacy Sprague, Executive Director of the Employee Family Assistance Program and Registered Psychologist

Learning Objectives:

  1. Develop an understanding of the definition of compassion fatigue: What is it? What is it not? How does it differ from burnout?
  2. Identify 3 ways to prevent compassion fatigue.
  3. Identify whether you are at risk for compassion fatigue.

 

Handouts: Posted on the BCTRA website as well as a self-test for members to do ahead of time.
