Learn about what we have been doing since 2008 to advocate for the TR role through direct 1:1 services, unique group programs, collaborative efforts through accessible and inclusive community development and our global work and advocacy in the field.

Speaker Bio: Amy MacFarlane

Amy MacFarlane is the Founder and CEO of Recreational Respite Inc, (2008 – Present). Her company, which is expanding to BC, provides therapeutic recreation services for children, youth, adults and seniors who have disabilities, can actively engage, participate and access programs and services in their communities. She is the creator of RecRespite Metrics, a tool to measure the impact of community projects. Amy is a founding partner/director of Family Caregivers Unite (2010 -2015) which is a social media project of international scope that supports, connects and empowers family and caregivers caring for family members with various health care support/needs. There are over 300 online radio episodes. Amy is a chosen expert and international keynote speaker, mentor, teacher on the topics of inclusion, accessibility, removing barriers to active participation in the community. She was a top 100 finalist in the Royal Bank of Canada, Canadian Women entrepreneur Award 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
