Two Day Workshop: Move to Include all Children

When: October 15th and 16th from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Where: Resource Education Centre Room 304  14123 – 92 Avenue, Surrey, BC

Workshop Synopsis: This workshop will cover information on how to include children with visual impairment, deafblindness, or multiple disabilities into physical activity. It will cover a range of topics including physical education, sports, recreation, aquatic, plan and more. How do you train coaches? Parents? The age range focus will be from pre-school to grade 12. Attendees will learn about current research, practice and programming. Participants will have access to extensive resources including videos, books, websites and other materials to help increase programming for every child.

Presented by: Dr. Lauren Lieberman, Distinguished Service Professor.

Dr. Lieberman is an expert on physical activity for children with visual impairments and deafblindness. She teaches at The College at Brockport in the Kinesiology Department. She founded and directs Camp Abilities a sport camp for children with visual impairment or deafblindness.
