Carla E. S. TabourneThe Life Review Program as an Intervention for an Older Adult Newly Admitted to a Nursing Home Facility: A Case Study

The purpose of this case study was to examine the benefits of introducing a Life Review Program with Mr. G., a newly admitted resident of a nursing home. The goals of the Life Review Program were to (1) decrease depression, (2) increase perceived competence, (3) increase orientation, and (4) increase social interaction. A five week one-to-one program was implemented two months after admission. The results of the case indicate that this program may be effective in facilitating adjustment to nursing home placement.
