Job Overview

Come work as a Recreation Therapist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) as part of the Adult Daycare team at Sechelt Hospital!

Key Responsibilities / Duties

Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, works in a team based environment and ensures the provision of Recreation Therapy services in designated Long Term Care settings/programs focused on designated clients/residents, and coordinates and participates in quality improvement and risk management initiatives, meetings, research and education. Provides Recreation Therapy assessments/interventions as required and provides leadership to designated students, staff and volunteers.

Qualifications / Experience

Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential and successful completion of the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) exam.
Baccalaureate in Therapeutic Recreation or Leisure Studies from an accredited university.
Two (2) years' recent, related experience working with the designated population group, in the applicable program area/setting, including one (1) year's experience supervising staff or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency First Aid.
