Do you know someone who has a physical or sensory disability? The Nordic Racers Ski Club will be hosting our second Skiing is Believing introductory cross country ski clinic of the season for people with physical and sensory disabilities on February 9th. To be eligible to participate, individuals must be at least 10 years old and meet our minimum mobility standards:

Wheelchair users must be able to transfer with minimal assistance and have enough upper body strength to move their own bodyweight in a sled. Support staff do not push or pull participants and the program is designed for individuals who spend most of their time in a manual chair.

Standing skiers must be able to walk at least 400m with or without walking aids, such as a cane or crutches, but without assistance from another person.

The cost to attend is just $25 per person and includes return transportation from Vancouver to Whistler Olympic Park, ski rentals and coaching. Register early to guarantee you spot by clicking here.

Why should you attend? Cross country skiing gets you out of the city and out shushing along tree-lined trails, you can make it as hard or as easy as you want so you can go as fast or as slow as you want. From a fitness perspective, it is a great way to improve your cardiovascular fitness while socializing with friends. And at the end of your ski, you can kick back and enjoy a hot chocolate…..really, does it get any better than that?
