PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP

Recreation Therapist – CTRS

For applicants who have an active CTRS credential with the National Council of Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP

Recreation Therapist

For applicants who were a Professional Member of BCTRA on or before March 31, 2026.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP

Recreation Therapy Assistant

For applicants who have completed an eligible two-year, 60-credit diploma in therapeutic recreation.

CANDIDATE FOR PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP

Candidate Recreation Therapist

For individuals who are eligible to write the NCTRC® CTRS® exam. This membership is valid for one year or until the CTRS® credential is awarded, whichever comes first.

Once the CTRS® credential is obtained, Candidate Recreation Therapists will be moved to the Recreation Therapist – CTRS® category at no additional charge for the remainder of the membership year.

These membership categories are designed for students, retired professionals,
and others who want to stay connected with BCTRA and the profession.

Student

For students enrolled
full-time or part-time in a
therapeutic recreation
academic program.

Alumni

For individuals who
previously held a professional membership with BCTRA and stopped working in Recreation Therapy or
Therapeutic Recreation within
the past two years.

Affiliate – PAUSED

For individuals who do
not qualify for another
BCTRA membership category.
