Recreation Therapist – Senior – Long Term Care

Vancouver Coastal Health is looking for an experienced Recreation Therapist to join the team at the Evergreen House long term care unit at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC. Apply today to join our team!

As a Recreation Therapist with VCH you will:

Ensure the provision of Recreation Therapy services in designated long term care settings/programs focused on designated clients/residents, and coordinate and participate in quality improvement and risk management initiatives, meetings, research and education.
Provide Recreation Therapy assessments/interventions as required and provide leadership to designated students, staff and volunteers.

Education & Experience

Baccalaureate in Therapeutic Recreation or Leisure Studies from an accredited university.
Two (2) years’ recent, related experience working with the designated population group, in the applicable program area/setting, including one (1) year’s experience supervising staff or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Emergency First Aid.
Eligible for certification and CTRS credential with National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).

As per the current Public Health Orders (Long Term Care/Seniors Assisted Living Provincial Health Officer Order and the Health Sector Order), as of October 26, 2021, all employees working for Vancouver Coastal Health must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
